CenterPoint Energy was notified that Volunteer Energy Services is unable to continue serving its customers. This means all customers will be released from any contracts and are available to be served by other retail suppliers. CenterPoint Energy is posting this notification to offer active Choice Suppliers the opportunity to serve these customers at Volunteer Energy Services supply price.  Please see approximate customer counts and approximate annual usage by customer class.

Residential:  22,683 customers with annual usage of 15,503,132 CCF

Small Commercial:  3,654 customers with annual usage of 13,758,254 CCF

Large Commercial:  154 customers with annual usage of 1,583,569 CCF

“Per the tariff, in the event multiple non-defaulting Choice Suppliers agree to serve the defaulted load, such defaulted load shall be awarded in equal portions to those non-defaulting Choice Suppliers.  In the event that Choice Suppliers are unwilling to voluntarily serve the entire defaulted load, CenterPoint shall assign the defaulted load to DSS or SCO Suppliers to be serve at the then current DSS or SCO price.”  Interested parties should notify CenterPoint Energy at GTOperations@CenterPointEnergy.com no later than 8:00am, April 6, 2022.
